The Sports Afternoon is a biannual event organised by ISYY, POKA and SYKETTÄ sports services. You can participate if you are student or staff person of UEF or KUAS. The purpose of the Sports Afternoon is to give our students and staff an opportunity to try new sports for a very affordable price (or for free) and to get everyone moving at least for one afternoon per semester. There will be no teaching after 12.15pm so everyone is able to take part – and we recommend you do! There is a great choice of activities, the list of which is below. Once you have chosen what you would like to do, please remember to book yourself a place (instructions on how to book next to each activity description). We recommend you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment – these activities tend to fill up fast.
NB! All sports classes at SYKETTÄ sports calendar on 2.10. are also included in Sports Afternoon. You can participate in all Sports Afternoon activities also without SYKETTÄ sticker!
All members of ISYY are insuranced by OLL (the Finnish Student Sports Federation). The insurance doesn’t cover all activities. More information www.oll.fi/en

Botania
Botania is a former botanical garden, nowadays it is an event garden based in Joensuu, Finland. Our premises consist of over 1000 m2 inner garden with over 700 unique plants, outer garden of 8.15 acres with over 800 unique plants. The inner garden consists of 3 different climates, the tropics, the subtropics and the desert. We also have a butterfly room, where butterflies fly free. Botania is also a home for a parrot and 2 tortoises. We also have 2 geckos living with us in our inner garden. Botania nowadays organises a lot of events and there is a restaurant, which serves our clients during opening hours.
