March is busy time in SYKETTÄ: We will launch our long-awaited services for personal sport consulting and gym instruction. You can come and discuss any sport and lifestyle related issues with our consults or get a top quality trainer to instruct you in the gym. There’s also lots of events to enroll and attend to – for example floorball-tournament. Have you already launched your tickets to ninja competition held in 8.4.!?

1 – Important information about new procedures for electronic keys

---

Because large number of Opistotie sport hall user, we have updated the procedures of how you can get and activate your electronic key. Please read carefully the new instructions! If you go to SYKETTÄ selling points before Wednesday to activate your key, it will be working on Friday.

1 – If you already have an electronic key, you can activate it via SYKETTÄ selling points (Cafe Savotta, ISYY campus office Lukema, KUTOP bookstore)

2 – Sometimes the key is broken (=when using it, the reader by the door won’t show any light). If that is the case, you need to contact Pekka Vedenpää. Please make sure that the key really is broken (the reader by the Opistotie door won’t respond to it) before doing it.

3 – If you do not have an electronic key, you can get it only from ISYY campus office Lukema or KUTOP bookstore.

2 – Changes in sports calendar during the winter break and Easter

Winter break 7.3. – 13.3.2016

---

• No instructed group classes are held on 7.3. – 13.3.
• There is one exception: The air yoga classes (open and advanced level) will be held sunday 13.3.! They will not be held on Sunday 6.3.
• Opistotie sport facilites will be open during the winter break as usual. Notice, that the entrance to the sport halls after 15:30  is ONLY through the sport hall door in the court yard.
• Studentia and Snellmania are open from Monday to Friday as usual.

AISTI – A Cultural Kiss 18.3.2016

---

SYKETTÄ is part of multicultural event “AISTI”, which is organized by Savonia international students.

Aisti (“sense” in English) offers a comprehensive cultural experience through food, fashion, music and dance. The idea of Aisti is to bring people together to have fun and experience new.

At the event you will be able to taste foods from many different countries, witness as traditional fashion meets modern, enjoy live music and dance and meet people. Come experience culture in all senses!

SYKETTÄ floorball tournament 21.3.2016

---

The SYKETTÄ floorball tournament is held on monday 21.3. at Studentia.

The games are held in Studentia between 15:00 and 19:00. The plays are held with 3 person vs. 3 person games in 1 section. Your team can hold maximum of 8 people, three of which are playing at a time.You don’t have to had a SYKETTÄ sticker to participate. But you have to be a student or staff member of Savonia or UEF.

The winners of the tournament will get sport massages and a week of training at HUIPPU for free! You can enroll your team via this form, one person enrolls the whole team

Opiskelijaninja 8.4.2016

NINJAAA!! Savo’s most flexible, most diverse and newest student party is here! Opiskelijaninja (Student Ninja) is held 8.4. at Leppävaara, Vesileppis Sport and Spa hotel. There you will compete in groups of four person in diverse ninja-styled tasks to win great prizes. And that’s not all – there’s also a pool party and the main act of the night is Spekti. It’s like the Winterfest but indoors!

The bus ride to the Vesileppis and back is included in the ticket price. You can also book inexpensive hotel rooms if you want to stay in Vesileppis.

You can get tickets from Lukema, Café Savotta and Lippupalvelu! Tickets cost 60 euros per team (15 euros per person!).

Finnish Student Championships and SELL Student Games 13.5. – 15.5.2016

The Finnish Student Championships (FSC) consists of national championship tournaments for Finnish higher education students. The tournaments gather thousands of students from Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences. The idea behind the FSC is to offer an enjoyable sporting format for students regardless of performance level. 

Who can participate?
Any member of the FSSF member organisations (SYL and SAMOK) is allowed to compete in the FSC.
If you have paid your Student Union membership fee, feel free to sign up for the FSC. 

SELL Student games is international sports event, which will be held in Finland, Tampere, 13.-15. May. The sports included in the competition are for example badminton, weight lifting, Greco-Roman wrestling and many more! You can check their web page for all the information you need.

4 – Yay, it’s finally here! Personal gym instruction and sport consulting!

 Your wishes have been granted – The personal sport services are here!

Sport counseling is a free service for all the students and staff of UEF and Savonia. You can book a time for consulting if you have any sport or lifestyle related issues like how to start doing sports, what sports you should do or how to make time for it.

SYKETTÄ Trainer -gym instruction is for those who have bought the SYKETTÄ-sticker. No matter if you are a beginner or more advanced gym goer, you will get top quality gym training from our trainers. And the price is suitable for students, too. 🙂

We will start the service during the week 11 (after the winter break).

There will be information available in english soon! All our trainers will be able to instruct you also in english.

5 – SYKETTÄ sport of the month: American football

Have you ever tried American football? No? Now is your chance!

Come and try American football with Kuopio Steelers! American football is suitable for men and women. You need normal sport clothes, something to drink and shoes suitable for artificial turf.

Hey ladies, Kuopio Steelers is looking forward to have some new women in their team, so you are very welcome to come to the class.

Get to know -class on Thursday 17.3.

SYKETTÄ and Kuopio Steelers offers you get to know class in March. It is held in Kuopiohalli on Thursday 17.3. between 8pm and 10pm. You do not need any previous experience in football.
