SYKETTÄ – sport services offers you inexpensive sport courses, workshops and get to know -classes all year round. The courses are carried out in our own sport halls or with our partners and local sport associations. You can participate in courses with both group class sticker and ball sports sticker and also one-month sticker, unless otherwise stated!

Swimming technique course 1:
16.9.2025 –>
This course is for you if you can swim breaststroke but you are not used to swim with your head under water. In this course we will practise breathing techniques in the water, floating, gliding and basics of freestyle and backstroke swimming.
Notice! You must have basic swimming skill (swimming 25-50 meters).
When the course starts, let’s meet in the swimming pool lobby 15 minutes before class, at 19.15.

Cancelled/Pole Center – pole dancing beginners course 26.9.-7.11.
Pole Dance starting course opens the doors to the world of pole dancing. During this course you’ll learn different kinds of spins, holds and grips. You’ll learn to climb to the pole and practice being upside down on the pole or against the pole.
In Pole dancing your strength will increase as your skills develop. You don’t need any previous experience to start with the sport.

WHEN?Fridays from 26.9.-7.11. at 15:00-15:55. The beginner’s course includes 6x 55-minute pole dancing classes during the autumn, one class per week. There are no classes during holiday week 42.

Adults beginner swimming school (level 0, no previous skills required).
During this short course you will learn the very basics of swimming, floating, kicks, and the basics of hand strokes. The focus on the course will be on water safety which strengthens your ability to practice on your own after the course.

Fencing course for beginners
The course will give you preparedness to start fencing as a regular hobby and a possibility to even proceed further to fencing competitions!

WHEN? On Friday Nov 14 at 18-20, on Saturday Nov 15 at 9.30-14.30, on Monday Nov 17.11. at 19-20.30 and on Wednesday Nov 19 at 19-20.30.

The fee includes teaching at the fencing club (Kemilänrinne 1), insurance, and equipment loan. The course will give you preparedness to start fencing as a regular hobby and a possibility to even proceed further to fencing competitions!

SYKETTÄ Kuopio, together with Rauhalahti Road Runners, organizes a running school for SYKETTÄ users.
WHEN? Introductory lecture at Savonia Microkatu campus on Monday, May 5th at 5:30 PM-7:30 PM: the topic is the basics of endurance training and planning your own training program. At the end of the lecture, information about the meeting places for the training sessions will be provided.
Training sessions:
– Thursday, May 8th and Mondays, May 12th, May 19th and May 26th: 6:00 PM-7:30 PM
– basic endurance training (PK)
– 2x speed endurance training
– speed sprint: speed endurance, hard maximum endurance training and timed interval
– coordination and technique training will also be done each time
REGISTRATION? Via the booking calendar on April 7th. from. When you register for the first time of the course, you register for the entire course. Registration and cancellations must be made no later than Monday 28.4. at 12:00. After this, the course registration is binding and you are obliged to pay the course fee. If there are enough people registered for the course by the deadline and there is still space on the course, you can still register for the course. In this case, the registration is binding and you are obliged to pay the course fee.
PRICE? 30€/person with a SYKETTÄ sticker. You will receive payment instructions from the course instructor.

Beginner’s course to fencing
- Oct 26–27, 2024, at 10–15 (with a lunch break)
- At Kuopion Miekkailjat fencing club, Kemilänrinne 1
- The maximum number of participants is 20.

At the beginner’s course you will learn the basics of epee fencing: fencing position, moving, simple attacks and parries. The price includes equipment to use, teaching and insurance. You only need a T-shirt, long jogging pants, and shoes for indoor sports. And a water bottle since sweating is guaranteed!
Fencing is safe, and it suits basically for anyone, for all genders and age groups. One may go fencing just for fun, for exercise, or with a goal set to competitions.
