Why the Mobile Application?
Mobile applications are the word of the day! Browsing the SYKETTÄ sports calendar on a phone browser is a little impractical, and loading the web pages can take quite a while with a slow connection. Enrolling on classes and controlling your enrollments is easy and fast with the mobile application. The mobile application also includes the mobile sticker, which you can use instead of or alongside a physical sticker.
Buying SYKETTÄ sticker is easy with the mobile application, and it is not necessary to get the physical sticker from a SYKETTÄ office. The application is available free of charge under the name Sykettä, on Google Play for Android devices and on the App Store for iOS devices. NB! Finnish bank account is required to purchase a SYKETTÄ sticker via mobile application.
Please note that you have to select “Joensuu” as your city when you login/register.
Features of the Mobile Application
1 – Sports Calendar
Browse the calendar by scrolling the screen down, up and sideways. If you are looking for certain types of sporting events, try out the filters!
2 – My Calendar
Enrollments
Quickly check which classes and sessions you’ve signed up for. If you can’t make it, cancellations are just as easy through your personal calendar. The app will also send you a reminder about an hour before the class starts.
Queue
New in the SYKETTÄ app! Here you can see the events you’re queued for. If you manage to get a spot, you’ll receive a notification on your phone (remember to enable push notifications!). The event will then move to your own enrollments.
History
Here you’ll find a list of all the classes you’ve attended in the past.
3 – My Sticker
Tap the middle icon at the bottom to display your mobile sticker. Show your mobile sticker whenever you’re asked for your SYKETTÄ sticker. The mobile sticker displays your email address, the type of sticker, and its validity period. You can check the validity most quickly from the pulsating SYKETTÄ logo. The logo is visible only when the sticker is valid.
Below your sticker, you’ll find buttons for self-check-in using either a session-specific QR code or a four-letter code. The instructor will inform you which method to use.
Please be prepared to verify your identity when requested, for example by showing a student ID with a photo or another valid ID.
4 – Info
The Info section includes a list of sports venues, class descriptions, and a link to customer service contact details.
5 – More
Under the last icon, you’ll find your profile, the SYKETTÄ shop, settings, and the logout option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I log on to the mobile application?
– Email address is not correct → check that you have written your email address correct, students use @student.uef.fi or @edu.karelia.fi address
– Forgotten password → use the password reset link
– Updated terms of use → must be accepted by loggin into the website
