Summer classes of JoenVoLi
The instructors and themes of the JoenVoLi summer classes change weekly. Themes of the classes can be found in the SYKETTÄ sports calendar and JoenVoLi website (only in Finnish). Enrollments on classes via SYKETTÄ sports calendar. Classes are organized by JoenVoLi so there will also be their own customers. Summer classes of JoenVoLi are held in June-August between 3.6.-7.8. as follows:

SYKETTÄ x Laituri collaboration in summer 2025
SYKETTÄ and Vesiurheilukeskus Laituri will cooperate again in the summer of 2025. During the summer, Vesiurheilukeskus Laituri offers SYKETTÄ users the opportunity to try out wakeboarding and SUP boarding. Enrollment on activities via SYKETTÄ sports calendar.
Summer discount
With the SYKETTÄ sticker, 20% discount on all Laituri activity services throughout the season. The discount is available with a valid ball sports and group exercise sticker.
Opening of the Laituri’s summer season
Laituri’s summer season opening will be held on Saturday 7.6.2025 at 12noon-11pm. On the program:
- Wakeboarding and SUP boarding every hour at 12noon-7pm
- SUP polo games at 2pm-3pm and at 6pm-7pm
- Café open throughout the event
- DJ playing at 7pm-11pm
Enrollment on all activities on the spot.

Instructed cycling tours
SYKETTÄ organizes two instructed cycling tours in May and June. Enrollment on the cycling tour via SYKETTÄ sports calendar. Bring your own bike, helmet (required) and water bottle.

- On Monday 26.5. at 5:30pm-7pm in collaboration with Joensuun pyöräilijät. Starting point in front of the Joensuu Areena (Mehtimäenaukio 2). We are cycling at a light pace in the terrain. Alternatively, a brisker pace tour on gravel.

- On Wednesday 4.6. at 5pm-6:30pm. Starting point in front of the ISYY office (Yliopistokatu 7, Haltia building). We are cycling at a light pace along main and gravel roads near the city centre.
Cycling tours are not held if the weather gets too bad. The instructor of the tour informs by email two (2) hours before the tour starts at the latest in the case of cancellation.

Green card course organized by Karelia Golf
SYKETTÄ offers a green card course organized by Karelia Golf for SYKETTÄ users. The course will be held in two parts on Monday 9.6. at 2pm-5pm and on Tuesday 10.6. at 2pm-5pm. By enrolling on Monday’s course, you will automatically participate in the second part of the course on Tuesday (to be able to gain green card you will need to participate on both days). Enrollment on course via SYKETTÄ sports calendar. Enrolling starts on Tuesday 3.6. at 2pm. Group size 8 participants.
Course is held mainly in Finnish but if required, also in English.

Virtual workouts
We have added virtual workouts in the sports calendar instructed by SYKETTÄ trainee Jaana. Virtual workouts are available to watch one week on the SYKETTÄ Joensuu YouTube channel. The link to YouTube can be found in the class description in the sports calendar.

Open dancing turns at Mehtimäki hall
We have added open dancing turns in sports calendar at Mehtimäki hall pedagogical room in June and August mon-Fri from 12noon to 5pm. All dancers must have a valid ball sports or group exercise sticker. Enrollment on turns via SYKETTÄ sports calendar.
The room has mirrors that can be turned behind the wall bars but those booking a turn must bring their own music playback equipment. By booking a turn, you reserve the room for yourself and ensure that the room is in a good condition when you leave. You can bring others along for the turn, as long as everyone has a valid SYKETTÄ sticker.

Ball sports turn at Mehtimäki hall
We have added badminton and volleyball turns in sports calendar at Mehtimäki hall UEF block for the entire summer Mon-Sun from 8am to 8pm. All players must have a valid ball sports or group exercise sticker. Enrollment on turns via SYKETTÄ sports calendar.
You must have your own rackets and balls on badminton turns. SYKETTÄ users can loan rackets from the ISYY office during opening hours. Poles and nets for volleyball can be found in the block. SYKETTÄ users can loan volleyballs from the ISYY office during opening hours.
UEF block oh Mehtimäki hall is located in the large hall part of Mehtimäki hall. The UEF block is accessible from door A on the right side of the main entrance, from the Kuntokeidas side. The changing rooms and showers are located in the corridor to the right of the lobby. Access to the block is through the changing rooms. The block is located in the hall on the right. Ball sports turns at Länsikatu school
We have added badminton, family badminton and floorball turns in sports calendar at Mehtimäki hall UEF block in June and August Tue-Thu from 10am to 6pm. All players must have a valid ball sports or group exercise sticker. For a family badminton turn, you can bring 1-3 family members who do not have a SYKETTÄ sticker as a playmate. Enrollment on turns via SYKETTÄ sports calendar.
You must have your own rackets and balls on badminton turns. SYKETTÄ users can loan rackets from the ISYY office during opening hours. You must have your own sticks and balls on floorball turns. Goals for floorball turns can be found in the storage of gymnasium.
Portti54 gym
Portti54 gym is open throughout the summer Mon-Sun from 4:30am to 11:59pm.
NB! Access code requests to Portti54 must be made on a separate form. Portti54’s access code is valid according to the validity period of the SYKETTÄ sticker:
– Access codes for the academic year 2024-2025 and spring 2025 stickers are valid until 31.8.2025 and there is no need to apply for a new access
– If you buy a sticker for autumn 2025 or academic year 2025-2026, you must apply for a new code to Portti54
New access code requests must be made by 17.6.2025! Access codes will be added again in the autumn starting 4.8.2025.
Aurora gym
Aurora gym is open during normal opening hours throughout the summer.
Tikkarinne gym
Tikkarinne gym is open until 8.6. with normal opening hours and between 9.-15.6. every day from 7am to 9pm. Tikkarinne gym is closed between 16.6.-10.8. The gym will open again for SYKETTÄ users with normal opening hours from 11.8.
