Student and staff groups from the University of Eastern Finland and Karelia University of Applied Sciences can now apply for a regular session (vakiovuoro) through the SYKETTÄ sports services for the academic year 2025–2026. Sessions generally begin in early September and end by May at the latest. All participants (including responsible persons) must have a valid SYKETTÄ sports sticker. Only one application per applicant/group is allowed.
All granted regular sessions will be 55 minutes in length (e.g., 18:00–18:55). This allows us to allocate sessions to as many applicants as possible. We recommend that small groups or student associations (averaging fewer than 10 participants per session) apply together with another group or association. Teams participating in sports leagues (e.g., floorball league, basketball league) will not be given separate practice times; instead, joint training sessions will be arranged for these leagues.
Each session must have 1–2 responsible persons. The same individuals cannot serve as responsible persons for multiple regular sessions. The responsible person is required to:
- Check that all participants have a valid ball sports or group exercise sticker
- Ensure general order during the session
- Report attendance numbers
- Cancel the session in time if necessary (at least one week in advance)
Having a responsible person is a requirement for being granted a session. More detailed instructions will be provided in August.
The application period ends on June 15, 2025, at 23:55.
All applicants will be invited to a session allocation meeting, which will be held in August. Sessions will begin in September. The exact date of the meeting will be announced later. All applicants will be informed of the final session allocations after the meeting.
