Do you need physical activity counselling?

Kirjoitettu: 12.4.2021 13:44

Joensuu SYKETTÄ physical activity counselling service concept has been created to promote the well-being of the students and staff of the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu campus and the Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The purpose of physical activity counselling is to motivate the customers to promote their own health and well-being with exercise. Physical activity counselling has become an established part of the sports services in Joensuu universities.

Under normal circumstances, the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) directs students fitting the target group to physical activity counselling. Due to the current situation, you can now also apply for physical activity counselling directly through SYKETTÄ. The target group for physical activity counselling is Joensuu university degree students and staff members who do not exercise enough to maintain their health and/or need support in activities of daily living. Customers participating in physical activity counselling must be willing to change their physical activity behavior.

Physical activity counselling is organized in accordance with the SYKETTÄ service chain model. Goals are drawn up with the customer for physical activity counselling. Physical activity counselling includes a maximum of five instructed meetings with a physical activity counsellor. Instructed meetings can include exercise with physical activity counsellor as well as counselling and guidance to promote health and well-being. After the instructed meetings, the physical activity counselling has a four-week independent exercise period for which goals and a personal exercise plan are drawn up together with the customer. The last meeting will be held after the independent exercise period.

Apply by sending a free-form e-mail to inform of your current situation and your goals and wishes. Applications and more information: liikuntaneuvonta@isyy.fi
