SYKETTÄ in summer 2022

NB! Enrollment on summer group exercise classes must be cancelled no later than four (4) hours before the class starts.

SYKETTÄ x Laituri collaboration in summer 2022

SYKETTÄ and Vesiurheilukeskus Laituri will cooperate in the summer of 2022. During the summer, Vesiurheilukeskus Laituri offers SYKETTÄ users the opportunity to try out wakeboarding, SUP snowboarding and fatbike cycling. Enrollment on activities via SYKETTÄ sports calendar, unless otherwise informed.

Bodypower 16.6.

The cancelled stairs workout has been replaced by Bodypower class on Thursday 16.6. at 5:30pm-6:30pm at Länsikatu school sports park. Bodypower is an effective class that develops muscle endurance and oxygen uptake. The class includes warm-up, fitness parts and restorative stretching. In the fitness part, the body is strained with various body weight and heart rate increasing movements. The class is suitable for everyone, regardless of fitness level. You can adjust the level of strain suitable for you. Please bring exercise mat and water bottle. Instructed by Roosa. Welcome to sweat to the class!

Enrollments via sports calendar. You can participate in Bodypower class with both the group exercise and ball sports sticker. Class is not held if weather gets too bad. Länsikatu school sports park is located in inner court of Länsikatu school, behind Educa building.

Summer classes of JoenVoLi

Summer classes of JoenVoLi are back! Summer classes will be held on Wednesdays at 6pm-7pm at Tulliportinkatu school during 8.6.-10.8. The instructors and themes of the classes change weekly. Themes of the classes can be found on JoenVoLi website (only in Finnish). Enrollments on classes via sports calendar. Please bring your own exercise mat and own kettlebell for the kettlebell class! Classes are organized by JoenVoLi so there will also be their own customers.

In addition, JoenVoLi holds four summer classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Tulliportinkatu school as follows:
– Thu 9.6. at 6pm-7pm
– Thu 16.6. at 6pm-7pm
– Tue 2.8. at 6pm-7pm
– Tue 9.8. at 6pm-7pm

NB! SYKETTÄ will loan kettlebells for SYKETTÄ users for kettlebell class held on 9.6. Kettlebells can be loaned from ISYY office (Yliopistokatu 7, Haltia building, 2nd floor). If you want to loan a kettlebell, send an e-mail to: liikuntasuunnittelija@pokapoka.fi or liikuntasuunnittelija@isyy.fi.

Badminton turns at Tulliportinkatu school

We have added badminton turns at Tulliportinkatu school to the sports calendar from Tuesday to Friday. Summer turns (Tue-Thu) must be booked by 12 noon on Monday of the same week! Opening hours of entrance for the same week’s turns will be programmed on Monday of the same week, so turns must be booked by this deadline. If there are no participants in turn, the entrance will be locked.

All players must have a valid ball sports or group exercise sticker. You must have your own rackets and balls on badminton turns. SYKETTÄ users can loan rackets and balls from the ISYY office during opening hours. You must enroll on classes via sports calendar. One family badminton turn has also been added for each day. Person who has booked a family badminton turn may take one family member who does not have a SYKETTÄ sticker as a playmate. The person who booked the turn must have a valid SYKETTÄ sticker.

Stairs workout

Stairs workout on Thursdays during May-June 19.5.-30.6. at 5:30pm-6:30pm at Laululava. Stairs workout develops well running condition, oxygen uptake and perseverance. We are exercising efficiently and variously in this class, at your own level and with your own style. The class includes a good warm-up, a workout part with many different styles and restorative cool down. Please bring a water bottle. Instructed by Roosa. Enrollments via sports calendar. You can participate in stairs workout with both the group exercise and ball sports sticker. Class is not held if weather gets too bad.

NB! In weeks 23 and 25, due to funfair and Midsummer, stairs workout will be held exceptionally on Monday at 5:30pm-6:30pm (6.6. and 20.6.). In addition, stairs workout in week 24 is cancelled due to funfair (16.6.).

Aurora gym

Aurora gym is open during normal opening hours throughout the summer.

Tikkarinne gym

Tikkarinne gym is open everyday at 7am-9pm during 1.-19.6. Tikkarinne gym is closed in summer during 20.6. from 7am – 8.8. until 8am

Joensuu Areena gym

Joensuu Arena gym is open according to the opening hours of the Joensuu Areena.
