The sports fee refunds regarding the pausing of the services on 24.11.

SYKETTÄ sports services were discontinued for the remainder of the year starting from 24.11. By he decision of University of Eastern Finland and Savonia University of Applied Sciences. The reason for this is to make sure studies are not compromised.
Because of the pausing of the services the instructed group classes stopped 2 weeks earlier than planned and all the services were closed 6 weeks before the end of the semester.
SYKETTÄ Kuopio organized online classes and there is materials for home usage offered in our website.
The common executive board of SYKETTÄ Kuopio and SYKETTÄ Joensuu has decided 2.12. in their meeting:
In our terms of use (https://xn--sykett-gua.fi/kuopio/en/terms-of-use/) is stated that SYKETTÄ is not obligated to compensate in force majeure situations.
However the common executive board decided that we will compensate for those people who have done their purchase 10.-24.11 (2 weeks prior to the pausing of the services), because they haven’t had time to fully enjoy our spring semester.
- If you purchased a sticker autumn semester 10.-24.11., we will return your sports fee fully
- If you purchased a sticker for the academic year during that time, we will compensate you as follows:
- Ball sports sticker for academic year: you can choose if you want to have back the fee just for autumn (16 €) and still use the sticker during spring, or if you want to get the fee 33 € fully back and then you don’t have a valid sticker for spring
- Instructed group class sticker for academic year: you can choose if you want to have back the fee just for autumn (31€) and use the sticker during spring, or if you want to get the fee 66 € fully back and then you don’t have a valid sticker for spring
We will send an e-mail for those persons who get the free autumn sticker/compensation.
At the moment the Universities have informed us that we can plan the sports services as usual for spring and the services can be opened on 2.1. If the situation changes, we will inform our users in our webpage and other channels.
We apologize for the break in our services! Let’s hope we can resume in January as planned. We will inform you about the schedules and buying the spring’s sticker later.
