Kuopion Ju-jutsuseura
Are you looking for a new, diverse sport? Try Hokutoryu ju-jutsu!
Hokutoryu is a self-defence and martial art whose strength lies in a variety of activities. Exercises include punches and kicks, fall techniques, throws, locks and chokes, as well as various release and transport techniques and defense against an armed opponent. In addition, practice the match upright and on the mat. The red thread is straightforward and effective techniques. Ju-jutsu effectively develops fitness and body control.
The basic course for adults starts on Monday 23 September 2024 at 8 pm and the training is at Kuopion Liikunta- ja Kampailukeskus On the move (Väliköntie 4, downstairs). At first, a pair of sweatpants, a T-shirt, and a bottle of water are enough for the training. Take a small towel with you to wash your feet.
You can try the sport for the first two weeks of the course free of charge (23.9.-2.10.) and with the SYKETTÄ sticker you get a 10€ discount on the basic course! (Price 120€)

In Kuopion ju-jutsuseura, you can also engage in fitness puppetry, which you can flexibly participate in without basic courses. You also don’t need any previous training experience.
Our fitness boxing training is a form of exercise aimed at young people and adults. In addition to basic boxing techniques and various batting exercises, the exercises include versatile exercise exercises, body weight training, and applied martial arts exercises. With training, the goal is also to increase body awareness, as well as to develop muscle fitness, coordination, mobility and endurance.
Training is held on Sundays at 17:00 – 18:00 Kuopion Liikunta- ja Kampailukeskus On the move (Väliköntie 4). Training runs on a non-stop basis, meaning you can join at any time. You don’t have to sign up for fitness boxing, just join the training! We always offer the first time for free.

Historical dances Kuopio
Have you always watched the prom scenes in Jane Austen’s period dramas with longing? Now is your chance to try dancing yourself. With a little practice, you might even make it to the prom. Historical dances are dances that were danced in the European courts of the 15th-19th centuries. The dances do not have a continuous dance tradition to the present day, but enthusiasts have brought the creations of later dance masters to life with the help of written sources. Dance guides come from Italy, France and England during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. In addition, the most enthusiastic enthusiasts have created their own dances adapting historical genres to modern-day songs as well as their own compositions.
Free dance rehearsals are held from September to May on Tuesdays at Kulttuuriarena (Kauppakatu 44) from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. You can also join in the middle of the season. You don’t need previous experience or your own pair, but you can of course bring a friend along if you want. You can come to the exercises in normal everyday clothes.

Kuopio Bubble Football
Kuplafutis, what’s that?
Kuplafutis (or bubble football) is a playful form of football, where the players wear a plastic bubble. There are hardly any rules in Kuplafutis, as long as you have fun and play fairly! The bubbles endure the fiercest tackles so you can make the most out of tackling your nastiest classmates! Playing bubble football is safe, suitable for all kinds of players, and most of all, great entertainment for student groups. Kuplafutis can be arranged at Vänäri and winter time indoors.
Price with the SYKETTÄ -sticker 220€/hour, normal price 250€/hour. The price includes the referee, a ball and setting and emptying the bubbles.

Studio Tempo is situated in city centre. It is a wellness studio for women. Men can participate in the classes that are marked as “extra” in the Tempo’s calendar.
