Summer 2018

The summer WILL come eventually. It just takes its time in Finland. While waiting the sun and warmth, you can get to know our summer happenings here: we have some instructed outdoor classes and of course you can use the gyms in Studentia and Snellmania the whole summer. The Opistotie facilities will be closed 18.6.-12.8.

Instructed group classes in June and August (4.-29.6. and 6.8.-31.8.)

During the summer we will enjoy the sun and fresh air – the summer classes take place outside Studentia, in the slopes of Puijo and in Väinölänniemi. The ballsports sticker is now also a group class sticker – you can join the summer classes with either of the stickers!

How does this work?

You need a valid SYKETTÄ sticker to join the classes.
You can find the classes from the sports calendar. Please enroll via the calendar as usual and cancel your enrollment, if you can’t make it.
Join the Facebook group SYKETTÄ rinnassa to get the latest updates about the summer classes. If there’s cancellation, the instructor will let you know about it via e-mail, so please check your mail regularly!
You can use mats and kettlebells from Studentia or bring your own. Remember to take a water bottle and sport clothes according to the weather!
No matter the weather, we will train!

Futsal 5.6. – 28.6.,on Tuesdays, whole sports hall, 16.00 – 17.00
Floorball 7.6. – 28.6., on Thursdays, section 1, 16.00 – 17.00

Opening hours for gyms and sports halls

Studentia

June and July:

Gym open from Monday to Friday 7.00-21.00 (The outdoor will be closed at 20.00)
The sport hall can be used from Monday to Tuesday 7.00-14.00
Midsummer: Friday 22.6. closed

August:

Gym open from Monday to Friday 7.00-19.00
The sport hall can be used on Mondays 8.00-19.00 and from Tuesday to Friday 7.00-19.00
Regular set shifts start 1.8.18

Snellmania

Opening hours for gym, tatami and mirror hall in June, July and August:

Monday – Tuesday 9-16
Wednesday 9-18
Thursday – Friday 9-16
Sat & Sun closed

Midsummer:

Thursday 21.6. open 9 – 14
Friday 22.6.closed

Opistotie

Opistotie sport facilities are closed 18.6.-12.8. (There could be changes in the schedules still!)

Notice: Only sections 1-2 of the sports hall are in use between 21.5. and 2.9.!

Count me in! Where can I get the sticker?

NOTICE! The ballsports sticker is now also a group class sticker – you can join the summer classes with either of the stickers!

Places where you can buy the sticker:
1 – ISYY campus office Lukema, open Mon, Tue and Thu 10-15, Fri 10-13, closed on wednesdays. See the ISYY web page to see the exceptions in the office hours. Lukema is closed during the summer 18.6.-5.8.
2 – Café SAVOTTA is open Mon-Thu 7.45-16 and Fri 7.45-15. Café goes to summer break on 1.6.
3 – KUTOP book store is open Mon-Thu 8-15 and on Fridays 8-13. KUTOP is closed 11.5.-28.8.
4 – SYKETTÄ web shop is always working! Buy the ball sports spring 2018 -sticker (17 euros) to use all our services during the summer. You can enroll to the classes as soon as you buy the sticker.

This is how the web shop works:
1 – Buy the sport package you want (for the summer it’s ball sports sticker for 17 euros) via the web shop. You can enroll to the classes and book free turns immediately.
2 – Fetch your sticker from one of our selling points or during the summer, when they are closed, from the portiers of Studentia. Stick the sticker to your student or staff card so it’s easy to show when needed.
3 – When you go fetch your sticker from the portiers of Studentia, you must prove that you have paid the sticker by showing them your SYKETTÄ profile page. You can’t get the sticker unless you can prove that you have paid it!
4 – If you have SYKETTÄ mobile app for Android, you have your sticker in there right after the webshop purchase! No need the get the regular sticker of you have the virtual one.
